I used to think that I would never let my cat, if

I used to think that I would never let my cat, if I had one, into my sewing room. Now that we have two kittens I laugh at how naive I was for thinking that was a possibility. 😜😂🤣🙄😉

Last night my kiddos were helping me remove all the velcro off my Kona color swatches so I could convert it to magnets. Our little Oreo spent an amusingly long time inspecting all the colors. 😂 I wonder which one is his favorite? 😜

I'm trying to knock out my sewing room and finish unpacking it today. I figure all the plans I'm making for next year won't do me any good if I don't have any room to execute them! 😎😉

So here we go!! I realize that I definitely need to keep it clean and included in there so I actually want to be in there.

Do you ever find that it's hard to stay motivated, or to finish a project, if your space feels too chaotic?? I am.

It helps too to let the nice things be on display. Things that motivate and inspire. So I've added my quilt books AND some art supplies to some of my open areas.

We got dumped on last night!! ❄️❄️❄️ I hope it stays! 🤞

I saw a friend measure their snow with a measuring tape today and I thought, "oh that's a good way to do it!" But then I was like, "duh. I'm a quilter. Quilt rulers are the only appropriate way to measure snow totals." 😂😜

Happy December!! I can't believe the years is almost over! 🤞 Hopefully it ends well for all of us! And the next year begins even better. ❤️

I have a lot of ideas and things I'm working on and I'm excited to start pulling them all together for you! (If my kiddos could just not be sick anymore and go back to school so I can get stuff done, that'd be great. 😜🙄😉)

My kiddos claimed all their rooms and left me the smallest one for my sewing room. ☹️ JK. It's totally fine. 😉 It'll be cozy! 😊❤️ (Plus the storage room is right next to it so I have plenty of room to keep everything. 🙌)

Unpacking is making me go bonkers! 🤪 So I've been cycling through different areas to try and change things up. The kitchen is so close to being done, the living room is still a complete mess, and today I worked on my sewing room. 🙌 I'll get there one day. 😏

Honestly, I just want to forget about the house and start making and finishing quilts. Lots and lots of quilts. 😍🥰 Maybe I should use that as motivation to finish the rest of the house. 🙄🤦‍♀️😜

One of these is not like the others... 🤔⭐✨🌟

I finished cutting all my pieces to fill in the gaps between the stars. 🎉🙌 I'm excited to knock this out!! 👊 And I kind of have to today! Because tomorrow begins another life event that will be taking me away from quilting again... But hopefully not for too long. 🤞🤞 it'll be so worth it though! I'm really so excited and grateful!

My daughter was sick for a while and I'm so glad she's finally feeling better and back at school! But I'm grateful I could step away from life and be with her.

I know I don't show up in this space a ton, but that doesn't make it any less a part of my life. I'm simply still learning to juggle. 🤹‍♀️😜

I'm also fishing up instructions on how to make 12 inch blocks using various sized blocks - including all the ones shown here, plus more! Turning all of this into 12 inch blocks makes it so much easier to construct! And I want you share that resource with y'all! 🫶

I have so many different things in life that I am

I have so many different things in life that I am juggling right now, that I feel like everything has been on rotation. Though I HAVE been able to do some quilting - which is actually one of the things I AM rotating through despite never posting anything. 🥴😜

So I wanted to pop in and share some of my progress!! I actually have one more 12 inch star to make where the big hole is. But I've started filling in the spaces between the stars. I only have 10 (out of 30) to make and then it's done!

What I'm doing is creating 12 inch blocks with all the stars so that they are really easy to piece into a quilt top.

To make it easier I've created a guide on how to turn each size star, and combination of sizes, into a 12 inch block. I'm adding a few more options and then I'll get it tested and will let you know when it's available! (It'll be a great resource that you can use with any sized block - it doesn't have to be used only with my Simple Star pattern, but it obviously can be. 😉)

I also finally finished this quilt top!! 😍

I really enjoyed using the cutting templates to fussy cut my fabrics, keep directional prints going all the same direction, and making it super easy to align everything!

As soon as my kiddos are back in school I'll put together a course where I walk you step-by-step through my entire paper piecing process, so you can learn all my tricks and tips for really efficient and stress-free piecing! ❤️🙌 (Did I mention that I probably only use my seam ripper like once a year?!
