Meet Simple Celestial:

If you’re familiar with my Celestial Star pattern, you’ll recognize that Simple Celestial has the same design elements, just simpler.

Celestial Star is a 12 point block, which can be a little more tricky to get all of those center points to line up just right. So I decided to create an option that would be a lot easier, but still have similar creative options!

This is a block I made when I did a paper piecing demo for my quilt guild in North Dakota. I love the fun fussy cutting elements. The states are places we’ve lived, and I need to add Iowa, Mississippi, Texas, Germany, England, and Vienna. I think that’s all the places I’ve lived throughout my life! 😉

I always love playing around with different design options when I create a new pattern – that’s partially how I know I’m done tweaking, is when there are a lot of options.

This is a progression design I came up with for the block just above it! The block is the second row from the top. I think this would be fun to see as a real quilt!

These are all based off that same first layout idea, I just colored them a little different. I think this looks so fun!!

I am in the process of making my kiddos their own twin size bed quilts, and my oldest daughter just decided that she wants that last layout for her quilt! I’m so excited, I think it’s perfect for her personality! 🙂 Watch for updates… 😉

One step closer to a finished quilt!! 🙌🤸‍♀️🎉

I took my chances and basted this the other evening just as a storm was rolling in. 😬 I finished just as it got dark. And just as I felt the first few rain drops.

Now that the kids are back in school, I'm optimistic that I'll have so much more time to quilt. But I'm not sure that reality is going to fall in line with that. 😂😭🙏🤞

Pattern uses a single template on repeat from my Rockstar pattern.
Fabrics are random prints from my stash and @konacotton solids.

This is for my oldest who picked out the colors and collaborated a little on the design. He's grown so tall I hope it'll be long enough. 😆

I ordered more thread from @mettler_thread a few days ago and will get started quilting as soon as it arrives! 🫶🙌

My rows of letters are complete and now onto the scrappy sashing! Almost done! 🙌 I think the cat has already claimed the quilt... As much as I've tried to take him off, he finds a way to get back on. I think I have 100 photos of all the times he's tried to sleep on the different sections. 😸😼

First finish for 2024! 🎉🙌

I spent the past 4 days finishing the quilting on this quilt and finished the last of the binding a few hours ago. ❤️

This is my son's bed quilt, and I'm so excited to finally have it finished. He helped me design it and picked the colors about 6 years ago. 😬😬 hooray for one project off the WIP pile!! 😉

Remember when we used to always share the most random boring awful photos of what we were doing (was it "WYD"? I don't even remember.😂)

Well, here's one of those for old times sake. 🤣

Now that my fabric and my machine are in my room, I look at them all the time. 👀 Tonight I decided to pull out this pattern I almost finished earlier this year.

I'll be making it for my daughter's bed quilt, so I'm aptly naming it "Mabel". 🥰

I collected all the #ErinMcmorris fabrics I could find years ago and have been saving them for this. I'm excited to start cutting into them! 😍
